Bessie traveled to International Autos, Milwaukee, to visit the youngest member of the new MINI line, the MINI Clubman. We didn’t get a chance to take a spin in the new Clubman. However, we did get a chance to trample through the spacious backseat. No one I know walked purchased a Clubman, but our curiosity was satiated. My aesthetic sense is still not quite happy with the back contrast. Here’s to hoping they make those body colored next year. Bessie was thankful she wasn’t being replaced by the younger, roomier model. View photos…

Bessie in her winter trends.

Just before the first big storm in Wisconsin, Bessie has been fortunate enough to suit up with winter tires. We got a great deal on a set of Bridgestone Blizzaks complete with steel rims. So far, so good, but we have yet to see how they do in something more than just a light dusting. Knowing Wisconsin, we won’t have to wait long.

Just over in the next town, a little blue Mini is up for sale. Should we rescue it for a bargain price? She’s perfect for everyday driving with her low miles and 50 MPG. The British immigrant is from 1994 and has had lots of care over the last few years. Her youth saves lots of money down the road, since she’s rust free and mechanically sound. It’s our chance for a quick, quiet classic ready for the road. Now it’s just a matter of finding the money… It’s Sold! But not to me.

In other classic Mini buying gossip, the Mini we looked at back in 2004 is still for sale.
