Jenni’s Homemade and Amy’s Ice Cream

Ice Cream Escapades

We drove over 1,000 miles just to make ice cream at Jenni's place in Austin.

It’s been over a month since Bessie took anyone on an Ice Cream Escapade, so here’s two from our visit in Austin, Texas.

Our first experience was at trying our own hand at making our own Ice Cream. Jenni generously provided the ingredients, recipe, and the ice cream maker. It turned out delicious!

Our second visit was to Amy’s Ice Creams, which is much like a Cold Stone Creamery or Marble Slab: over-priced ice cream that you can add things to for a price. The service left much to be expected and will not make us take a journey back to Austin just to resample their wares.

Texas Longhorns

Bessie's souvenier. A magnetic long horn.

Bessie went to Texas and all she got was a magnetic Longhorn. And gas, lots of gas. At least it was cheaper than Wisconsin prices. If any of my Texan relatives (or anyone else for that matter) have a problem with my longhorn, you’ll just have to send the appropriate magnet from College Station, etc.
